The Cross country

On last week’s Thursday it was the school Cross Country. I really did have butterflies in my stomach. At the school’s sensational Cross Country my toes were frozen when I got to the front field. We got on tarpaulins so our trousers didn’t get wet from the grass.
The year six girls sped off so quickly followed by the year six boys. The year five girls and boys were a bit slower than last time. It was still amazing watching them speed off and then disappear into the cross country circuit. Next after the year four girls it was the year four boys which was me.
The year four boys lined up. This was the time I really had butterflies in my stomach.
I was a bit disappointed in the number I came. Tenth; that’s what number it was but it was better than last time. Cross Country is a sport and I like sport.
